How to find work as a neurodivergent student

I really am rubbish at small talk and networking…

James Baggott, PhD student offers his advice to those students who are neurodiverse, and looking for their first role after education.

James worked in a SEND unit at a secondary school whilst applying for PhD opportunities. He had some great advice on how to start doing things you’re really uncomfortable with, and focusing in on your weaknesses to help move forward. James talked about how he dislikes small talk and networking but came up with strategies to make himself do it.

Thanks again James for coming onto Career Stories LIVE to talk about your experiences so openly.

Head over to watch the full interview here – so interesting to hear some really good explanations of how James has dealt with neurodivergence.
