Can I hide my birthday on LinkedIn?

Does anyone care that it’s your birthday?

LinkedIn gives you the option to share your birthday when you create your account (and you can amend this at anytime by clicking on contact details (next to your location) and then the edit pencil at the top right hand corner, then choose who, if anyone, you want it visible to.

Why would you have it set to share?

Maybe you like getting Happy Birthday messages!

Maybe it’s interesting to see who gets back in touch after a long time.

It’s a nice way to re-establish contact with people, have a bit of a chat, find out what they are up to etc.

If you have it set up, people in your network may well see your name pop up in a notification, and send you that birthday message.
