How often should you post on LinkedIn to make the algorithm work for you?
I’ve been thinking about all the posts you see about the LinkedIn algorithm – and does it help or hinder you? My video today is my thoughts on why you should ignore* what all the graphics and advice from people with HUGE follower numbers are saying.
Unless you have stacks of time to produce high quality, very professional documents and videos, then I honestly think it’s better to not get obsessed with creating the ‘right’ kind of content.
Most of the people I work with don’t post much (if at all), and don’t even like to comment that much for fear of getting it wrong.
I’ve tried to take my own advice, and recorded a one shot video, of me thinking out loud. I used Canva for simple captions so that I’m not spending hours and hours on stuff that will likely get low visibility.
As I ALWAYS say, engage with content from other people to get used to using this platform. Then think about what are you trying to get from it, and come up with some ideas of what will work FOR YOU.
There is a huge about of work that goes into the algorithm reports, and the best by far is Richard van der Blom, which is eagerly anticipated by loads of people, me included, but then ripped off and not credited by others. But the every day user of LinkedIn won’t have the time to even think about this stuff, let alone implement it.
I’m genuinely interested in what you think about the LinkedIn algorithm reports – do they help or hinder people? Please add your thoughts in the comments.
